Memphis2 1,078 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 Tough gig I would think.O'Shea has done reasonable well but the pressure must be intense. Good luck to him in the future.Intriguing to see who will be his replacement.Maybe they will ship someone in. Will need to have a tough hide. Ohokaman 5,763 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 It's believed Godolphin have initiated discussions with O'Shea's possible replacements. A Randwick-based trainer, two interstate training operations and an international member of the Godolphin team have been rumoured to be contenders for the job. Midget 4,489 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 It said " Randwick based " so I doubt BB fits the bill. The elephant in the room is Jimmy Mac, since he was rubbed out the Arabs have stalled a bit, and O'Shea was a big Jimmy Mac disciple so the dynamics within have all gone pear shaped. They won't find happiness and peace within until Jimmy Mac is back....that's very deep and a bit Zen grasshoppers, but it's true. Tough gig for whoever takes it on.... Beadman seems to run the show, would Moody have had the "heads-up " to tread water and wait for this opportunity?. A long shot might be Charlie Appleby as the races Godolphin really want to win are the staying ones. gary1
Insider 3,883 Report post Posted April 29, 2017 Pikey could handle the job. Many couldn't. I will go for someone offshore. P.S. I gave John O'Shea 12 months. I was wrong. I could be this time too.

Midget 4,489 Report post Posted April 30, 2017 Moody is the man for the job, if he'd do it, and he probably won't although the rumours linking him to the position have been about since May last year. Is James Cummings good enough ? Seems a bit soon to me although he does a good job with those three year olds he's got. They couldn't seriously bring a northern hemisphere ( as in UK ) trainer here could they because the training techniques are so different and those blokes from up north would train all the speed out of the horse's legs. Maybe bring one of those good Hong Kong trainers down, someone like John Size, they're as good as anyone in the world and money would be no object to the Arabs. elbow
