tonkatime 323 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 2 hours ago, DatoStar said: No TAB betting options , offshore account again ! There are TAB betting options. They had tote racing on 2 of the races last night, it was originally 3 but they decided the third was "abandoned" probably due to their system needing to shut down for the night. They also had final field win and place betting on all of the races I believe, again I think they close quite early. For some reason they seem to put it under fixed odds other rather than final field fixed odds and they did open one of the markets with the horses from a race in Carlisle that ran last week but there are some options. shaneMcAlister 1,425 Report post Posted March 15, 2017 My cousin (trainer) is having his first ever runner at Cheltenham. Three generations have headed over the Irish Sea to Cheltenham for it. Race 2 on Friday Wakea, will be about 33/1 and is expected to run a bold race. Giddy up! Tinkerbelle and elbow

Nah, that was because the field had more than 24 runners in it and the 'system' here, as it has done for umpteen years, just can't cope. Any time you see a major UK race - and it happens a lot at Royal Ascot - that is marked here as 'Abandoned', go look at Sporting Life's website and count the number of horses that run in the UNabandoned race! On a side note, do you see the names of the two races our 'world-leading betting agency' is taking tonight? TAB Novices Chase TAB.CO.NZ Final Handicap So we are sponsoring UK jumps races? Erm no. The real names of those races are the JLT Novices Chase and the Pertemps Network Final Handicap. I wonder if Cheltenham okayed the dropping of their sponsors' names, eh? Sporting Life aren't taking New Zealand's glamour (ha) two-miler today - though I see they cover races in South Africa and the USofA as well their own local lot - but how would the ARC and Barfoot & Thompson feel if the race was promoted in England as the Sporting LIfe Midweek Distance Handicap? shaneMcAlister and elbow

Shows how brain dead the TAB are. For decades NZ & OZ had races with more than 24 acceptors. THats why brackets were a common feature. I realize the mentality these days is a bit restricted but perhaps some of those older systems weren't so bad afterall. As for the sponsors. TAB has no problem with Christchurch Sky Casino so why be so moral about an overseas bookie sponsoring a race. Hypocritical when TAB pushing for racefields legislation yet bully some small fry sponsor. Perhaps TAB will have the balls to rename Emirates Melbourne Cup to Air New Zealand Melbourne Cup. elbow and cherry_bomb
