wassa how many do you have to bred to be classed as a farmer?

I'm not an expert so I can't answer that was just an observation that may appear that way to some and was said with no malice or judgement if you read my post correctly. They must be doing something right as they always win the premiership. And the post was towards a positive side of things cheers

No problem with racing every day of the week if the dog is fit. The trainer will know if a dog is fit - even in a large kennel. One of my bitches won 3 races in a week. In Oz they tell me over there that it is mainly because of the distances between tracks that they don't race more often.

So don't talk bollocks trying to reduce our choice of whether to race or not to race. The dog is no good to a trainer if he puts too much pressure on his / her charges. But as an owner and a greyhound-lover the welfare of the dog is paramount - after that we all need to have an income.

Fitness is the key.

It gets even worse, Homebush Flame had its first start today at 14 months old, it is racing again on Thursday, and just for good measure is in again the following day.

That is 3 races in 5 days for a 14 month old dog, this isn't just wrong it is sick.

The time has come we need to bring in the rule like they are bringing in in Victoria where a dog is not allowed to race day to day.

Where is our so called 'welfare' officer, I don't care what anyone says, racing a dog that young so often IS a welfare issue and he needs to get off his ass and do something about it!

Homebush Flame won its third on the trot today. Lightly raced and looks a dog with a future.

Both bitches were excellent, looking forward to seeing offspring from them.

Bright Stars pups are looking good so far. Modest Mouse has a couple of them.

Chris' Pride we are just waiting for her to come into season again so we can get her to Steve Clark & Aunt Emma so she can be put with Blitzing Mayhem.

Karen Walsh is a trainer i admire as a trainer she doesnt flog her dogs week in week out if she does start them a week in a row its normaly heats for a follow up final I think results speak for themselves.

The same with Calum Weir, He has one of the best sprinters in the country and he doesn't take that to an advantage to race him more. I admire how he doesn't let the winnings of his dogs affect how many times it races in a week. It is good to see the younger trainers do well in the dog industry. Lets keep it up. :)

It is a very good point. Swimming Goat is virtually an ATM machine yet races just once a week on a Thursday. Everything there points to the welfare of the dog 100%.

or Swimming Goat is a one track specialist (Not taking anything away from him of course as he is a great dog).  As was Bright Star. They were great dogs but still unproven on tracks away from there home track.
