gubellini 3,923 Report post Posted January 13, 2015 Hedley 40 years ago I used to ride Mer'cler in work. She won the 1976 Oaks at Ellerslie.Fast forward to 2016 probably dreaming but I would be chuffed if this filly could make an Oaks type.At least her dam won over 2400m at Ellerslie! hedley and Grant R

hedley 1,900 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 Graham Richardson's Alamosa~Abenroad filly 1st October 2015 Strada Cavallo's performance in the Guineas Trial at Riccarton on Saturday will determine whether she stays in Christchurch for more three-year-old racing. Matamata trainer Graham Richardson loaded the Alamosa filly on to a horse transporter at 1am on Thursday. She was taken to Auckland airport, flown to Christchurch and arrived at the Riccarton stables of Shane Kennedy and Anna Furlong at 7.15am. "If she goes good [on Saturday] we might look at the Coupland Stakes and Armadillo," Richardson said. The $50,000 Ray Coupland Stakes is at Ashburton on October 17 and the $70,000 Armadillo Stakes is held at Riccarton a week later. Richardson would like to see Strada Cavallo in the $300,000 Group I 1000 Guineas at Riccarton on November 14.. Bought for $60,000 as a yearling, Strada Cavallo ran third of 12 in her only start as a two-year-old. She has had a one start this season for a fourth in a Pearl Series maiden race at Te Rapa on September 9. "She's a gorgeous [looking] filly," Richardson said.
