Bollocks. The Sky Racing 1 and Sky Racing 2 channels are pretty much bumper to bumper (all codes), but the Sky Racing World channel focuses on the thoroughbreds and gives a preview of the horses in the parade ring, plus some interviews with jockeys/trainers, and often post-race interviews as well. BTW, you get all 3 channels under the one package.

I couldn't disagree more - Trackside is a load of crap, with equally crap presenters. With Oz Sky Racing you get 3 channels - Sky Racing 1 and 2 which caters for those who want non-stop back-to-back races (all codes), and Sky Racing World, which focuses on 2, 3 or sometimes 4 thoroughbred meetings (depending upon the day), with previews of each runner, pre- and post-race interviews. In all cases results are shown pretty much immediately. Oh, and you don't get those stupid bloody blinds covering the screen whilst the horses are loading into the barriers. It's light-years ahead of that Trackside rubbish. TVN is ok, but their coverage is limited, and the presenters aren't up to the Sky Racing standard (just my opinion).

Speaking of FOO, we had our Christmas work do out at Living Legends last Friday, and I got to see him & give him a pat, as well as Might And Power, Paris Lane, Better Loosen Up and Apache Cat

So what happened to Mark Mc, I just saw the 2nd at Riccarton Park on Sky Racing, and the caller was Tom Wood ?

LOL... I recall way back in the days of Ange and Dave when one zzz zzzzz thrust himself upon the scene and began ranting on about how he was going expose all of the misdeeds of those incompetent jockeys

What a load of crap, Sky Racing in Oz (3 channels) costs $5 per month, TVN is $1 per month, those are hardly premium subscriptions. The Sky Racing team make Trackside look like the bunch of back-yard amateurs that they are.

If you have a smartphone/tablet try downloading the IPB Mobile app (for IPS Communities) to connect to Race Cafe - it's much nicer for browsing forums and posts.

I doubt it, NZRB/TAB are living in the dark ages. Even the TAB's excuse for a mobile solution is total crap.

I should add that the app only covers thoroughbred racing

If you have an iPhone or a smartphone (Android), there's a pretty neat app available with all the information you need for Australia, NZ, Honkers, UK and Ireland and South Africa. Just search for ""RacingSports" in the relevant app store. I've been using it for over a year and find it really handy.

I wouldn't recommend buying a projection TV (I had one years ago). They have three projection lamps in the back (or beneath), and they have a limited life time, and they are bloody expensive to replace. Current LCD are much better in terms of quality and price.

What I originally questioned was the suggestion that owners have no choice about whom they get their winning photos from, which in my experience has not (always at least) been the case.
