  1. There are many reasons to go against this idea, but for a start, there is no need for night racing to attract crowds oncourse. Night racing would only be useful to serve a TV viewing market and to fill an international time TV viewing and punting market time slot. Attracting viewers oncourse would be a very difficult exercise, best left to the summer slots that already serve some purpose.
  2. Just a quick google as that pasted file tree does not make much sense. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/superb-horseman-james-delahooke-dies-at-77/
  3. This thread is surprisingly spicey! For the negaholics, I suggest you also get into some Ragerhol. It is good juice and makes a great cocktail.

Unfortunately the answer to that Abernant, would only be hypothetical.
  5. https://www.rnz.co.nz/programmes/the-detail/story/2018844275/lin-lang-a-billionaire-horse-exporter-s-change-in-fortunes "Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry - is in receivership. The horse exports have stopped, putting a market potentially worth many millions of dollars on hold. New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing chief executive Andrew Birch says Lin Lang put New Zealand on the map as an exporter of thoroughbreds. "He certainly played a role in attracting the attention of a bit of a sleeping giant in the mainland Chinese market, which has for the best part of 40 years been promising to really take off as a racing jurisdiction." Lang also attracted attention for his champion horse Mongolian Khan, which won the prestigious Caulfield Cup in Australia in 2015. " The podcast report is worth a listen.
  6. Helena Baby wasted a couple of years in an unsuitable environment. He would have gone well in the Sydney autumn on those deep tracks and picked up big paydays with good placement. Can probably still smash NZ winter fields at this stage.
  7. Berri TK junior seems to be lost down dark rabbit holes, if he is watching and seriously posting videos of Nigel Farange, and now he is spending time wondering about wacko right wing trolls.
  8. I have been watching racing.com for full coverage of Melbourne racing, but after all this time, they suddenly blocked me this week of all times, 'your location is not available'. The coverage was available for last Saturday. I hope it was just something to deal with the overload during the cup. I do not want to rely on Trackside to watch Victorian racing.
  9. Thanks Mill Reef. I overlooked Primadonna Girl's first foal, but do recall his runs as an early 3yo now. Pity his career did not continue in HK. This would indicate that this mare is now the source of this resurgence in the family.
  10. A horse like I'm Thunderstruck is always curious, as it has seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Maybe a hobby breeder success , persisting with a non performing line. Looks a nice type and it will be interesting to what heights he can reach. The line probably has not been commercial since Mink Goddess (IRE) 1980 from Swettenham Stud to Curragh Lass (NZ) 1987 by Danzatore. Edemwold only had small hobby breeder crops. I have little impression of College Chapel. Shocking is producing some useful types, but is not considered successful. There are questions about his racing career, but you still need a lot of ability to sit wide and still win a MC, even if he had some extra help in his system. These horses are interesting, on where did this ability suddenly arise again in this line, with the last winner I recognize going a long way back as Reno Belle. I would say his looks have a lot of Edemwold and probably College Chapel. A great effort last start, and it will be interesting to what he can achieve for this family. What will the next 2 colts and maybe an Ocean Park produce.
  11. The cognitive dissonance from his climate change denial caused his brain to fragment.
  12. Do not go to the Main Street, unless you are interested in the psychologically damaged and insane. We have always had to listen to those who have the religiosity mind virus hijack their brain, but with the internet and social media, there are now a whole bunch of flavors of alternative reality that is being reinforced by the information bubbles and echo chambers. They are not totally contained to the Main Street and are leaking out here. There is also a large contingent that is obsessed with the American manufactured culture war. They have been sucked in and do not realize, it doesn't matter what side you are coming from, it is a manufactured culture war, and who is actually benefiting from manufacturing the culture war; certainly not the people obsessed with it. There has been a couple of references to BLM and wokeness on the Thoroughbred forum this week. There are a lot of comments around here relating 'Cindy' and communism, which says a lot. I am amused by the geriatrics on here and one of them who talked about meeting John Key in person and getting all giggly and sweaty like a teenage girl meeting Justin Biber, but now posts derogatory comments about Jacinda. I could guess about the media and information bubble they are exposing themselves, which is probably one big echo chamber. A lot like those farmers who brought their tractors and utes to Queen Street, and then everybody else read their signs and messages and thought the were absolute morons. PullyourselfTogether's posts on here about racing are usually of high value. I was reading some comments about him on another forum by the younger generation, and the consensus by them of his HQ facebook comments, is that he is actually quite possibly posting here as 100 1 and 6axes. I do not do facebook, so I cannot confirm. Racecafe going back more than 10 years ago, was the one place in the racing industry, that you could get a picture of the true actual reality of the racing industry. The information was a decade ahead of the higher echelon of the industry. There was a reference here how Vela had a very low opinion of the information being posted on here, but 10 years late, he realized it was the truth. Steve Davis would reference the rabble and keyboard warriors on Trackside, while puffing up Gregory and Ballis. The top breeders of the time were still in fairy tale land and the PR from Te Akau indicated that they were also in an alternative reality. I am not sure if you can get the best information and true reality of the racing industry here now. I find myself coming to read some of the truly bizarre comments, like I am here to gawk at a car crash. There are plenty of places on the internet for this, some people refer to the comment section of Stuff, but I can only take a small dose. I seldom feel motivated to post, or have the time to be in the right frame of mind. So it is probably up to people drowning out the low value posts. The rule of the internet is the extreme ideas are broadcast at a great volume, while the middle ground is not so motivated to spend so much time and energy devoted to being heard.
  13. Twist it however you like, but it is pretty clear. The election fraud that has been accused, has produced no evidence. The Dominion systems have been audited. They are required to have a paper trail, and the receipts that were audited, matched the result. The polling matched the results. States legislators control the voting system in their state, not at the Federal level. Republican controlled states, control the voting system in their state. They use ES&S, which has insiders. The choose mostly not to require a paper trail, and evidence that can be audited independently. The results did not match up with polling, with the incredibly massive turn arounds, like Maine. The republicans blocked a couple of Election security bills prior to the election, because this would have meant scrutiny, audits, paper trails. To continue to assert that Tump didn't win because of some opposition election fraud doesn't add up.
  14. There could have been election fraud, but the misdirection is purposely to keep the focus off the Republicans. With the large Republican machine for 'Black Ops', 'Rat fucking' and 'Dirty Politics', everything the Republican party is raging about, is almost always projection, to steer any attention away from what they are actually doing. Scream about the other side, and even if it comes out that they were doing it, then they have a weasel excuse that it must have been both sides. Why did Bill Barr and Mitch McConnell opt out? Hey, don't bring on too much scrutiny, because we may also come into focus. Dominion voting machines, matched their paper receipts and polling. But what about ES&S voting machines used in all the Republican controlled states. ES&S insiders have a documented connection to the Republican party. ES&S voting machines in these Republican controlled states don't require a paper trail, paper receipts. Server backups have been deleted. Why was there such massive swings in Maine and Kentucky? A double digit turn around in margin in Maine, including a lot of mixed voting on the ballot, i.e., voting for Democrat down the ballot, but also for Trump. ES&S machines in Florida and Texas. The weird call by Lindsey Graham, asking for a little voter fraud, but what actually happened in his state with ES&S voting machines? Just a little turn around from polls. Then there is all the open voter attacks. From the destruction and dismantling of the Postal Service, during a pandemic when mail in ballots are needed. Gerrymandering and large scale voter suppression of Democrat areas in Republican states. There was Democrat lead drives for Voting Security Bills in the light of Russian election meddling. These were all blocked by Mitch. The Election security Bills would have brought on too much scrutiny across the board. With all these measures, ES&S machines set in those Republican states; was Trump assured everything was going to work out and the fix was in. But being so incredibly unpopular, and with a pandemic raging, there was always going to be a historic turn out and they were knocked over by turn arounds in the states they could not control. 6xes is a prime example of religiosity being a mental illness. Really high lighting that America is screwed with all these Evangelicals and Christian Dominionists, in powerful positions. The Death Cultists waiting for Trump to bring on the Raptures. Whoah!!
  15. 100 1 there are plenty of resources available if you need help. You are not currently living in Guyana. You don't need to drink the Kool aid. You can log off this account 100 1, never log in again, lose the password, and after a break, register a new account with a new outlook. If you can't fill this gap, there are plenty of Televangelist to devote your life and life savings to. As a passive detached observer of US politics, I often wonder where I would sit on the political spectrum if I was fully living in the environment. I do not understand how people can attached their whole identity to a politician or party, it is all Mao Zedong, with the rabid red guards and personality cult, again. Truly bizarre. From a distance, the democrats are not wonderful in many aspects, but they are easily a 1000 times better than the thing that is the Republican party, which stands for what? I guess 80 or 90 percent plus of Republican voters do not even know what the Republicans are for, but vote based on Abortion, Guns, God, fear and hatred of gays or something like that. Certainly not real issues or economics that affect them day to day. Just manufactured culture war. It is all so obvious and telegraphed. The manufactured culture war these days. Trumps treasonous behaviour in Ukraine, Hunter Bidens laptop. The same play book to 'Rat f__k', that has been successful before. Just need to have some authority announce something about a possible investigation; then the right wing media machine can scream and talk, and make all sorts of insinuations 24 hours a day, alluding to so investigation, that after months, leads no where and was nothing. In hindsight, 99% of the Clinton material, was manufactured right wing hot air. It is all so obvious, the right wing propaganda machine, but obviously so effective. Fox news is a very well refined drug delivery method. Great use of media delivery techniques, content, that gives the viewers hit after hit of dopamine; then blasts them with fear and disinformation. Now the whole apparatus has grown. Steve Bannon learnt from "gamergate' and see how the republicans have evolved that strategy here with 100 1. Throw in Cambridge Analytica and the Russian Internet Agency, and the Republican media machine has evolved. Anyway back here. What is up with racecafe 'Trump'. I always thought the conservative faction of the Labour party were low information voters, but now see that the greatest low information voters are on the golf course, and after 40 odd years of being totally absorbed in the Murdoch media bubble, can not form a thought, other that spout what they have received from the Murdoch media verbatim. It is funny to interact with them in real life. Very much like gangsters, and on the racecourse, when they met a new person, that spout off some right wing talking points like gang signs, and if they get they gang signs referenced back, all is good.
