  1. Surprised a JP didn't do this as all they are doing is certifying the documents as copies of the originals. What you use the certified copies for is your business.
  2. Alas no cubes in the punters room despite all the advice above. Punters comp leaders on $1400 after race 6. lets see how good the precious is.
  3. Hope we are all good sorts on here http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/consumer-security/woman-who-posted-selfie-with-barcode-on-900-melbourne-cup-ticket-had-winnings-stolen-20151104-gkqsxp.html
  4. A bloke in our pub syndicate put on 8 $50 5% first fours on Sat morning. You can imagine our dismay in the afternoon looking at the pools knowing that even if he got one up the return was going to be less than the bet.
  5. Thanks to Chris Johnson for the late call up for the Grand Luncheon speech today after scheduled speaker fell ill. Same for Dave McCarthy for having to redo the interview at late notice. Not easy with the late call up. I would have thanked them personally but the whole thing was over in a whoosh at the end. Couple of head honcho's were there as well but missed them at the end as well. Would have been great to have a chat with a couple of the trainers there and said head honchos in the bar afterwards. Looking forward to tomorrow, ChelseaCol and myself will be in Pharlap Room (first table away from the window as you walk in from top off the stairs entrance) so make yourself known.
  6. Finally sorted getting an old hand back to the track for Grand National tomorrow. During the Grand National lunch get a text saying why can I not find a Turf / Best Bets. To be fair he is hopeless on the punt, I can't remember the last time he made money at the track, but at least the book told him the losing colours to look out for.
  7. At this rate our GN week might be spent at the Casino with their computer generated races.
  8. It works for Formline in Sydney, although our TAB would have to get the FF odds out earlier for all races not just some of them. I don't have the luxury of watching a mid morning Sat programme. Maybe why I bet more on Aust races over the winter as I have watched Formline to raise my interest levels. I'm happy to reassess any selections once track conditions are known Sat morning.
  9. Friday time slot suits me. I currently record Formline (Friday 11am) and either watch late Friday night or get up early on Sat morning before the rest of the house is up. I need to spend some time with family on Saturday (sport, appeasing the other half with chores, shopping or lunch) before I disappear for the afternoon with the races from say 2pm onwards. So the First Call ay the moment doesn't fit in with that. Why not have on Friday, repeat Sat and then run a Sat morning an update programme with latest track conditions.
  10. Avonhead Tavern in Christchurch will credit back to your bank account. They withdraw the funds from your voucher or TAB account and then process a credit via the eftpos machine using your eftpos card. Their eftpos (in the TAB area) is linked to a separate account, if you withdraw money it comes up as NZ Racing Board. Not all pub Tab's may have this.
  11. Meeting News Racing Te Aroha @ Te Rapa | Saturday 8 April Friday Afternoon Weather: Fine Track: Dead 5 Rail: Out 8m Weather and Track updated at 1.53pm Friday 7 April
  12. I would like to apologies to the connections of Swimming Goat. After following him for a few starts the one and only time I backed him was when Wheelchair Norm beat him. I promise not to back him again. Reminds me of the one and only time I backed the pacer Tupeka Knight in his amazing 2 year old season - the time he choked down.
  13. Ha ha, I made Cubes and DC proud keeping the glassware on the table this year. Looking forward to tomorrow. Any racecafers going tomorrow we are traditionally the first table as you walk into the phar lap room, make yourselves known as being on a race track is what it is all about.
  14. Unfortunately the days of BYO are gone and it is not the racing clubs but the fun police deciding the only way to stop a dozen drunk trouble makers is to stop the masses enjoying themselves in moderation. My local Riccarton's big days are all controlled by the tri-agency something that set out the liqour iicence rules for those days, not the club.
