  6. I had an email from them. Dear Ted, This year is going to be a big one for us here at the TAB. As we prepare to provide our customers with some of the new things they’ve been asking for, we’ve also had to look at some of the products we currently offer TAB customers. As part of this, Fixed Odds First4, Pick6 and Place6 bet types will no longer be offered from today, Wednesday 13 March. We can see that these are bet types you’ve used recently and understand you might be disappointed by their removal. We have lots of great alternative bet types for you to consider: For Fixed Odds First4: · Tote First4 · Fixed Trifectas For Pick6: · Quaddies For Place6: · Fixed Odds Multis Thanks for continuing to be a valued customer of TAB. The TAB Team
  7. The Hawkes Bay Cup meeting is to be run at Otaki on Saturday 13th: Saturday 13 April This meeting will now be an Otaki-Maori RC Licence at Otaki (previously Hawke’s Bay). The programme advertised, including the Hawke’s Bay Cup and City of Napier Sprint, will be held on this day to avoid any disruption to both programming and the black-type pattern previously advertised. The stake for what was advertised as The Poverty Bay Cup will revert to $40,000. The Poverty Bay Cup will now be run on the Open 2100m race at the Hawke’s Bay meeting on Saturday 27 April for the previously advertised stake of $55,000.
  8. Bold front running jummper who won both the NZ Grand National Hurdles and the Great Northern Hurdles in the same year 1985. 13 wins 3 on the flat, four over hurdles and six over the steeples.
  9. 1963 When Great Sensation won his third Wellington Cup in row beating Stipulate by a length and half. Stipulate actually went out favourite and was looking to win the NZ Cup, Auckland Cup and Wellington Cup in the same season.
  10. Go and have a good look at the replay Gubes. He was luckless. Barrier one was always going to be very awkward for him and his position in the race was dictated by the horse in the blue clolours in front of him hence where he was positioned back in a bad spot turning in. He was blocked in the straight and had to come across heels and it was pleasing to see when he did get clear air some nice acceleration before having to be eased short of the line when running out of room yet again. As mentioned it was good to see that turn of foot again when he did get some clear air. He won't be long returning to the winner's circle.
  11. Balmerino did win two races in England Stodge. 1977 Vadoe Stakes and the 1978 Clive Graham Stakes both run at Goodwood.
  12. Terrific. He was a good staying horse who enjoyed the big roomy Trentham track. There he won the 1966 NZ St Leger Stakes 2800m, 1967 Trentham Stakes 2400m and the 1967 Chalmers Handicap 3200m.
