  1. The watering off the track is not the main issue here as they will still go wide. It is the FACT that they tried to do this without disclosing the information to the Owners, Trainers, Punters etc etc It was only from discussion on this and other sites and pressure from elsewhere that must have led to a press release late last night. The track was watered Thursday morning so a decision must have been made Wednesday night so why was this not put up on NZTR website. I like many punters had Fixed Odds bets yesterday on this meeting based on horse drawn wide would get to the outside fence first. The TAB should "rule a line" and refund all bets as these races have now changed. Just heard Kevin Hughes who is a Board Member and Trainer state on radio that he knew nothing about the watering until 8.15pm last night. Kevin I thought that a Board told their CEO what to do not the other way around. NZTR must act. It appears that the CEO and RIU were attempting to deceive the Racing Industry by not disclosing watering had been done. The question must be asked has this been done before.
  2. Can someone confirm....... Is Lisa Latta off to Singapore
  3. Most of us would agree that NZ Racing is not travelling well at present and in Business when things are tough you "tighten your belt" In my business when times are tough you don't replace staff when they leave, you take the opportunity to save some $'s and get existing staff to fill the roles. So why do we need a new GM Planning & Projects and GM Racing, surely some existing staff can do these positions.
  4. Do they still do Race books on course ? If so when was the last time anyone on here purchased one.(not received free because they are an owner, trainer etc) They tell me Ashburton had a presentation last Friday.
  5. Cubes can you tell us why on the NZTR Website Riccarton are showing having had 65mils on Monday Night and 29 mils Tuesday Night Total 94 mils, when 5 minutes down the road Christchurch Airport on the Metservice website had 20.8 and 38.8 a total of 59.6 mils. A difference of 34.4 mils Looks like you've had drying weather since (sun and wind) so lets hope the track provides reasonable footing.
  6. Great win by Franco Ledger last week, going through stipe reports Hamish was fined for excessive use. Any ideas how they come up with a fine like that considering it certainly didnt look aggressive to me.
  7. Not in the conditions of the race or meeting.
  8. Negotiate wins a rating 75 $25,000 race as a rating 75 horse on Saturday and gets a 2 kilo penalty for a 75 Benchmark on Wednesday. Yet she receives 7 rating points for the win. I would have thought that 7 points would have meant a 3 1/2 kilo penalty. Can anyone explain why not.
  9. Please explain how you keep it at 12-1300. I spose the saying "pay peanuts, get monkeys" come to mind.
  10. Half Wit for thinking Nelson would be a good place at the Jewels is ridiculous. Would you rather be drawn outside the front line at Cambridge or Ashburton? And how many horses won from mid to rear field this year? Very good start for the mile also a nice big track to get moving early so your not stuck at the back. Downside to Nelson is the location it is a bit harder to get to for trainers, upside new town getting the Jewels
  11. First Day track Good2 1200m race won by Captain Kirk they ran a time of 1:08.45
  12. Walked the track earlier today and I reckon it will be better than a November track. A perfect day in Christchurch. They'll break 1.09 for 1200 metres.
  13. Based on your comments are you as an "AMATEUR" racing reporter going to stand down and let a Professional do the job. ps you did ask for it !!!!!!!
  14. oops 23 starters typo Even got a mention on TV One Sports News. Good positive story for Racing.
