The watering off the track is not the main issue here as they will still go wide.
It is the FACT that they tried to do this without disclosing the information to the Owners, Trainers, Punters etc etc
It was only from discussion on this and other sites and pressure from elsewhere that must have led to a press release late last night.
The track was watered Thursday morning so a decision must have been made Wednesday night so why was this not put up on NZTR website.
I like many punters had Fixed Odds bets yesterday on this meeting based on horse drawn wide would get to the outside fence first. The TAB should "rule a line" and refund all bets as these races have now changed.
Just heard Kevin Hughes who is a Board Member and Trainer state on radio that he knew nothing about the watering until 8.15pm last night. Kevin I thought that a Board told their CEO what to do not the other way around.
NZTR must act. It appears that the CEO and RIU were attempting to deceive the Racing Industry by not disclosing watering had been done.
The question must be asked has this been done before.
