  1. Any advice please on Streaming trackside radio to mobile phone. Used to be able to do it through "tune in" app when on a long road trip for reasonably consistent coverage.
  2. Licences must be renewed by June 30th and 'Failure to return the renewal form and prescribed fee by the due date will render the license holder liable for an automatic late fee of $100 + gst'. That's by Thursday next week children, a full month before the end of the season. And I thought the council was tough charging a 10% penalty on late payment of rates. Would be nice to get all that loot in well in advance of it being due but would also be good if they asked nice and respectfully or even offered a discount for paying their exorbitant fees on time. 3. "Believe it or Not" Gone up one point to 8 after over 20 mls overnight!
  4. BAPAUME from that good Classic Fame mare Classic Babe has now won it's first two starts from Bjorn Bakers stable. Looks promising.
  5. And they still felt the need to all race down the extreme outside of the track, ignoring the inside half of the track. So Foxton bog is no different to anywhere else! (?)
  6. Thanks Ted but I still think the Club should be more proactive in posting these updates especially as they were so popular the way Jason did them. Egmont has still not updated since 8.39 am on the 25th. It's now the 27th and there are races there tomorrow. How bloody hard can it be for these clubs?
  7. I'm looking at this from the perspective of a trainer/owner from outside the area trying to organise a programme going forward. I can phone around and get varying opinions on the track at present but I've got a window of an hour or so in my busy morning tomorrow to get an official penetrometer reading from nztr and make a decision on whether to nominate for Saturday. Jason took a lot of the guess work and uncertainty out of that with his posts and it was appreciated by all. I would like it to continue.
  8. Jason Fleming from the Hawkes Bay racing Club has stood head and shoulders above other administrators for his much appreciated updates on RaceCafe, of Hastings track conditions and weather predictions. These have always appeared well in advance of race day and included regular updates. It's a shame many other clubs have never followed up on this initiative and that we no longer get this service from Butch. Not hard to delegate this to a club Steward or someone if the paid staff are run off their feet! (?)
  9. Yes, a plan well executed by Kirsty. Poor judgement by the beaten lot when you see the way the winner had done it in the previous two years. Congratulations!
  10. Suppose it is a bit unusual but it has got me more curious than I might otherwise have been. Perhaps there's method in their madness.
  11. What's so amusing about a proactive attempt at communicating and seeking feedback from your customers?
  12. Well I refuse to pay it until I receive a plausible explanation as to why it is justified and why they are charging so much. Suggest others do the same. Happy to receive an explanation via Race Cafe
  13. Hugh Glasgow farmed in Turakina and was a very successful owner back in the 60s and 70s. Closely associated with Theo Howe, Malcom Smith and others. His grand daughter, Deborah Parry, rides work for the Latta Stable at Awapuni and successfully trains a few herself.
