    The race rating is the average of first 4 placegetter's international ratings - handicapper determined. It is a frustratingly blunt instrument, as this example shows. This race rating was strongly argued, but without joy. With this year's result it is in serious jeopardy of being downgraded.

    I shocked when seeing this, but have checked back and definitely lazy on the "r" in Alexandra several times. Sorry! Harness racing is in my blood - my mum's family is the Oliver's from Morrinsville. Calling at Alexandra Park was an honour, given the who gone before me. The box position and set-up is a treat for commentators. The racing surface looked great and the racing action was excellent.
