  1. Might be a ,"divine" profit for the stud.
  2. It will be interesting to see how Divine Profit ,the full brother ,goes in NZ and at a fraction of the fee.He looks good value and crossed with the NZ mares may be just as good.He was of course a Gr1 winner.
  3. And take a look at Vino Rosso who stood at Spendthrift in Aust.He is presently the leading first season sire on wins and stakes.Who would have thought he would leave brilliant two year olds. Such a shame Spendthrift pulled out of Aust breeding as their American stallions are right up there with the best. Vino by Curlin looks like he is one for Aust studs to consider trying to shuttle.
  4. While a lot of credence is given to Eight Carat for VE take a look at her dam sire Danroad. There seems to be nine mares by him still breeding in Australasia six of these have left Stakes winners I'm not sure in the Northern hemisphere but the freshman Eng sire Aclaim is out of a Danroad mare has left stakes winners including a Gr1 already.Surely this is nothing short of remarkable for a little used stallion namely Danroad.
  5. Congratulations to Nature Strip and all connections.Aust sprinters are the best. The 2yo race taken out by Brad sell who's by the sire Tasleet a son of Showcasing.Other races won by horses by Dubai and Sea the Stars who's by Cape Cross.NZ and Aust have had opportunities to get into this top NH blood as Cape Cross,Showcasing both stood in NZ and now Dubawi sons are now available in both NZ and Aust.
  6. I usually sit up all night watching the whole meeting It's certainly worth it and Aust TV coverage is excellent.
  7. A buckaroo with a stockwhip would have sorted those bastards.
  8. Disgraceful. Both Vile and Sharrock ex Taranaki men. Where's the loyality in this surely RACE must provide a reason and or mediation.
  9. At Kensington a soft 7 track and J Mac aboard under John OShea's training could be a big hope.
  10. Winner by a son of Curlin and the only son of Curlin is Vino Rosso who has stood for Two seasons at Spendthrift Stud in Vic Aust.
  11. I have read at times people complaining about NZs handicapping system vs Australia's.Well it seems Aust is no better I have a horse racing today having his fourth start and is top weight with 63.5kgs having won only $14000. Every other horse in the race has won more,up to $170000 and some with almost 10kgs less weight. Seems there are anomalies everywhere.
  12. Lovely set up but too many stables for me to clean out every morning.
  13. Limestone based country in North island is mainly around Te Kuiti and in sth Island around Nelson and South Canterbury it seems.
  14. Another new horse to Kia Ora stud.Captivant 3yo by Capitalist X Speedboat standing for 2022 at $27500. He has a half sister that raced in NZ Anna Cecelia who had 11 starts for one win.
  15. So NZs GST is still 15% I thought Cindy may have increased it she's increased everything else.
  16. Seems NZ Studs are trying to keep up with Aust.Per Incanto $50000 plus GST.So that's $65000 I presume.
  17. The studs in Aust are not slow at increasing fees if their sires leave a good one.Is he worth more than Snitzel or Fastnet Rock who are proven over all classes of mares.I doubt it but only time will tell.
  18. Just learnt Toranado jumped from $49000 to $88000.They are all the same a few stakes winners and they get greedy. Most big studs adopt the same greedy formula.Guess what they all have mothers and those well bred mares are the catalyst for many of these stallions.
  19. Savabeel in previous years was good value compared to Aust but Aussies want speed.I am astounded the prices being obtained for Broodmares on digital sales
  20. Extreme Choice who is not that fertile,$275000.In looking at fees for unproven new sires they are nothing short of ridiculous but in saying that most studs do deals if one has a good mare. I believe Darley has the best value for world class stallions.
  21. Sorry Paul Moroney and Haoh and Co. Purchased.
  22. MM Gold Coast yearling sale 2021 lot 1028.Purchased by Mike Moroney and another for $70000.
  23. His full brother Meglio sold for ,$2000 at the Inglis on line sale in January. Not a lot of depth until the third dam.
