  1. You've gone way to deep into this and thats not something I'm going to discuss with someone on a racing site. It's also not a racial comment that Sheldon made. He used a quite obvious racial slur. Slur being the main point here. If you think its ok to use that description of Asians then ok fair enough. Im not going to try and convince you why its offensive. I just find it interesting the admins, one in particular. hasn't threatened removal/bans
  2. Whys that? Transactions are kept on record indefinitely.
  3. So people get threatened with bans and get their comments removed from this site about talking about drug use and making accusations about race fixing but racial slurs are fine? Good to know moving forward
  4. So what's the biggest issue for trainers trying to turn a profit? Vet bills? Transport costs? Feed? Have these things increased too much over the last 10 years and prize money not increased at the same rate? Seems they are trying to put more money into stakes every year. I'd like to hear your take on it because I hear a lot of trainers mention its hard to make any money in the industry anymore but what has changed so much for that to be the case
  5. Talk down here is its a couple of races here at Forbury. These rumours have been around a while though so I have no idea if its true and I have no links to anyone important enough to ask. There were 3 races mentioned down here and 1 at Addington but again I have no reliable source its just talk with some guys/owners I see around.
  6. You're making a massive assumption there that it drops out and runs last. I dont know the horse that well and the owners and Tritton say its best chance to win was too lead so I'd take their opinion over yours this time. COT rule isn't great but I still prefer it to how our drivers here pick and choose when to go forward, but that's a discussion for another time All Stars stay with the McCarthys when they are in NSW. So thats all I'll say about that. Would Andy even know the horse that well to make that decision??
  7. The only discussion here is about your statement of Andy would have got a long holiday if he didnt hand the lead. So why did the stipes query Andys tactics then of handing the lead? They queried it because it was against their tactics pre-race. Now they didnt suspend him because they felt it was completely reasonable to hand the lead there but for you to then say he would have gotten a lengthy holiday if he didnt hand is completely false. All you have to look at is the fact the stipes queried Andy handing the lead to disprove your point of him getting a lengthy holiday if he didnt. Its also not team driving if they state they are going to hold the lead pre-race and thats what they do. Also a horses price isn't supposed to be taken into account.
  8. You're missing the point completely. Their tactics pre-race was to hold the lead so they let the stipes and the public know that this was what they were going to do as they felt Anything for Loves best chance was leading. They also stated that if Salty Robyn was Parked they wouldnt hand the lead to it either. They then handed the lead over to Lazarus fairly easily reasonably early in the race which is completely opposite to what they said their tactics were. Which is why the stipes after the race questioned Andy over the tactics of handing the lead. Tritton was also fuming after the race that Andy handed the lead also. I'm not arguing the fact that I think Anything for Love would have beaten Lazarus if it parked him but for you to say that Andy would have gotten a holiday for parking Lazarus is just not accurate. If that was the rule then every leader early would have to hand the lead to the "better" horse if it tries which would be ridiculous.
  9. Haha. You're delusional. They said they were going to hold the lead at all costs. If anything the stipes are going to reprimand him for handing the lead.
  10. Yeah that what makes it even more strange to me as to why it wasn't questioned
  11. Can anyone explain to me Sailesh Abernethys drive on this horse in Race 6 Sunday Otaki? Seems pretty strange to me and surprised it wasn't questioned. Actually maybe I shouldn't be surprised
  12. Haha potato. Couldn't agree more. I just hate how he tries to make out he knows the form of the horses when he's clearly just going off what HRNZ website/tab comment says. He always will 'really love' the fav or 2nd fav. Just read out the form and the prices and don't try to make out you're a form expert. I think thats one of the reasons that people like Mick Guerrin, because he'll say he has no idea but say this one has the in form driver or out of this form stable so go with that one if you have no idea. I don't think you can get duller than Ryan Bradley
  13. So you're trying to tell me that some of these gun 3YO's that have won 1 race arent as good as some of these 8-10yr olds who have won 6 or 7 races in their lifetime but havent won a race in the last 2yrs? This system is a lot fairer than the older system and most of the people that are complaining seem to hate it because they cant get as many soft kills as they used to be able too but overall for all horses and owners it is a lot fairer.
  14. High levels of cobalt over an extended period of time does cause a number of health issues. That is fact, from all the articles I have read on the subject. There is no science behind your claim saying that it doesnt cause any issues and is safe, but please feel free to link to an article that says high levels of cobalt is safe. At normal/baseline levels it's obviously safe as it is naturally occurring and small amounts are always present, but at the doses that are tested for it causes a number of issues, one of which is heart problems. I've heard these horses have tested well over the 200 ug/L which is not possible unless they have been administered cobalt whether intentionally or accidentally. Yes you are right that there is evidence horses trained to race fitness are more susceptible to heart issues anyway, but it doesnt read like it's definitive. The science is inexact in regards to the performance enhancing aspect of cobalt use but not what massive amounts of cobalt does to humans or horses health. This whole argument started when you took exception to the link made to Dalgety having "apparently' a number of horses having heart issues and his recent cobalt positives. I think it was stated in the previous thread that many people thought Dalgety didnt have more horses than any other trainer with heart issues. Which I have no idea about as I dont keep count, however you going on about you cant make that link and threatening bans is what everyone took exception too as it wasn't that big of an assumption to make in light of the recent positives. If you don't agree with the assumption he has made, fine. Put forward your evidence to counter and then move on, but name calling and threats is a bit of an overstep from an admin
  15. Its not that ridiculous, seeing as Cran has just got positives for Cobalt. Is he 100% right in linking the stables heart issues to the most recent cobalt positives? No, of course not but it is far from a massive stretch to state that there could be a link between the two. As has been stated by Happy. You then went on to say that it is "possible" and "highly likely" that Crans positives were not deliberate which is just as big an inference. This is a forum where anyone can put forward what they think of the industry and for the most part I think everyone is very good and civil in their discussions about sensitive topics. Users that just sling mud around for no particular reason usually get checked back into line by others. In this case I think you a way off base with threatening bans about this issue. There have been many other times when you could have flexed your admin muscles around when users go off on some weird tangent but in this case think you are wrong to do so
