  1. Hey team I think you are being a bit tough on Guerin . .Weigh In is one of the few NZ racing programs I look fwd to watching.I like Guerin because his knowledge of racing. He is a bit quirky and very enthusiastic. .Maybe Marsh was still feeling the effects of hard out celebrating and that’s why he was looking like he was.Give Guerin a fair go ,would you rather have popperwell or sweens
  2. As far as I can remember it was always called the “Waikato Gold Cup” I note now the “Gold” has disappeared from the title . And has a field to match
  3. Congratulations Mr Goss on your mares win at Matamata.I think there is a lesson for all of us .A 91 yr old trainer waiting 12 months between starts .Surley that’s the epitome of patience.
  4. I agree gruff they may not have beaten the winner but at a recent meeting at the same venue Capt Tom also had the challengers covered easily and yet the stewards changed the placings .Would be nice to have some consistency.
  5. Te Rapa Race 1 The Lost Boys 4 Race2 Festivity 3 Race 3 Torque Time 4 Race4 Force Of Will 11 Race5 Gold Watch 3 Race 6 Levante 9 Race 7 Needle And Thread 2 Race 8 Melody Belle 9 Race 9 Les Crayeres 3
  6. It's a wonder this hasn't happened more often ..I believe the starter should be in a position where he can see all his assistants..maybe they should watch the people in the V8 car racing ..as soon as they have completed their task they raise one hand in the air showing they are ready and away from the vehicle...Sam Spratt mention this morning that the starter at Riccarton doesn't even give the riders any warning the gates are going to open ...surely there should be a nation wide starters procedure warning the riders ..something like we have the all clear ....ready.... go ... then every body knows what is going on no matter what track they on
  7. When Elevenses won in 2000 she had only won a 1150 metre maiden at Te Awamutu ....I'm sure she went to Aussie and ran 4th in the Australian Oaks over 2400meters on a heavy track
  8. I reckon there is a big race for Delagos Secret maybe it might have to be 2miles.Also these races need to be run at a decent tempo to make them a decent staying event otherwise the horses at the back third of the field will have a hard job to run on. The way they are run now they do the first 600m or so at a leisurely pace so they are only fair dinkum over the last 1800m or so We need some genuine pacemakers bring back Jans Beau,Yardstick etc
  9. Apart from a couple of the more experienced Juniors most of the others are pretty average.I agree some of the amateurs are pretty average but at least they give it a go.The difference as an owner you pay nothing for an amateur to drive your horse whereas you have to pay for a junior bad drive or not and what's more laughable is you pay the same for them as you do for a senior driver (I think) Cheers Blue
