  1. NZTR website been down for 3 hours now. Crap service
  2. NZTR website been down for 3 hours now. Crap service
  3. Isn't there a former disgraced NZTR employee now doing the fixed odds? Would he have come up with this idea? There have been a few instances of horses odds that have been "questionable", from when they are released from the barrier!
  4. I was told that Trackside camera's recorded John Allen's Industry Conversation at Ellerslie on March 3rd and John Allen quoted "it would be uploaded to NZRB you tube channel for everyone to watch." A month has now passed. But his message before the Industry Conversation was uploaded on 7th March. Seems like NZRB doesn't want the actual industry conversation shown now. Trackside cameras did record it.
  5. What are the rules of racing regarding re-ratings after races? When horses like Gingernuts wins the NZ Derby, and Ugo Foscolo winner of the 2000 Guineas have not been re-rated for their wins? Surely this is wrong, when horses have lost points in the same race! I cant imagine any country in the world, handicappers allowed to do this. Our handicappers have not served any apprenticeship, and going by our open handicap over the past 12 months, surely shows them up!
  6. Midget, every horse should be re-rated after each race it runs in (within 48 hours). Not waiting until returning from Australia to incl its previous race in NZ!! Imagine Hong Kong handicappers not re-rating horses performances before they go to Dubai. Everything has to be up to date. It was always done 48hrs after the race, until Strictland became handicapper. Explain this on the NZTR website: Both NZ Guineas winners have gone to Oz. 1000 Guineas La Diosa 78 (+4) 2000 Guineas Ugo Foscolo 78 (+????) Our new NZ handicapper (Strictland) doesnt know what hes doing, and our open handicap grade proves that. The handicapers are under rating the three-year-old crop. Even La Diosa 82 before she went to Oz is too low. I have no connection with Trojan Warrior, but he is the worst rated horse in NZ. At 91, a winner of 6 races - no stakes races but has to concede weight to Rangipo a Derby - 4x Group winner. Rangipo was always going to be vunerable on Saturday. Second up, on testing ground, he needed the run. Rangipo should have been rated close to 100 after winning the Derby. He ran to this rating mark when topweight with a penalty in the SW+P Darley Plate.
  7. Im not going to disagree with you there; but Rangipo won the lot and won $700,000! Hes far too low rated 90. Connections wouldnt hestitate to take on WFA and SW+P racing, and he'll be much closer to older horses then. but my main point is Can anyone explain to me why certain races, the re-ratings of horses havent been adjusted on NZTR website? EVERY horse should be re-rated after the race (within 48 hours)!!!! Gingernuts re-rating after winning the NZ Derby has not been done.
  8. Can anyone explain to me why certain races, the re-ratings of horses havent been adjusted on NZTR website? There was a NZTR rule that all re-ratings had to be confirmed within 48 hours after the race. Gingernuts stayed on 78 after winning the NZ Derby. Sacred Elixir on 94. If they were to race each other a fortnight ago in NZ in a handicap, there would be 8kg difference? Ugo Foscolo stayed on 78 after winning the 2000 Guineas. Runner-up Savile Row got 20 points. Surely, EVERY horse should be re-rated after the race (within 48 hours)!!!! Ive had a gutsful of these ratings! How come Rangipo is only rated 90 (after winning the G1 NZ Derby, G2 Avondale Guineas, G2 GN Guineas, G2 Waikato Guineas), our leading 3yo last season. He has to be around 100, and justified that by running 3rd when topweight (carrying penalty) in the SW+P G3 Darley Plate.
  9. Strath Ayr is called a all-weather track! Strath Ayr is a all weather natural turf track. http://www.strathayr.com/turf-systems/strathayr-track-system Personally, I like to see all weather Strath Ayr turf on the outside of Ellerslie, and use the inside track with a polytrack. Just like Sha Tin and Kranji etc... Ellerslie can run 12 horses on the poly for more races during winter.
  10. That shows us what kind of a person is running our industry. A bulls****er!! Cluecless! Under qualified and employs under qualified people. Apparently his nickname in Australia was "boy wonder" He was always a boy on a mans errand, and everyone wondered what he did!
  11. I agree with you Midget. The facts are, the unemployed Australian who has since passed away was actually broke when he came to NZ and only wrote what he was told by Mr Purcell. Now we have ended up with our open handicap grade being a complete disaster. Our former qualified handicapper (now sitting at home due to Purcell thinking he knew more than him) for 30 odd years knew the system that worked best for NZ racing. He must be shaking his head in disbelief that its in such a shambles. Our current handicappers have no qualifications to do such an important job.
  12. What questions would you like the panel like to ask Purcell on weigh in on Monday? Ill start. Resign!!! For the sake of NZ racing. RESIGN!!!
  13. I was told the Stipes used two trotters to test the Thames track in the morning?
