  1. True.... did not think of that one
  2. Convenient timing !!!!! Stop the flow of NZ owners exporting their race horses over to Aus to race for three years...SCARY DUe to the current situation in nz racing that was the my first thought after reading that article.
  3. The dates are mentioned in one sentence, Then in another theres no guarantee to stat racing due to funding???? What the heck... Really!!!!
  4. Lol, I think you like me Hav a great night Poundy.
  5. Lol whatever pounds... go pound yourself
  6. Hope that comment made you feel better poundforpound. I'm not perfect like you, but I am open and honest and do not care what you think of me
  7. Cannabis.... well many years ago as a full time track rider and a very busy one at that. I fractured my neck in a spectacular fall at the gap at Avondale. I was one of the lucky ones and walked away from that fall.... but for the next three years I suffered from numbness and muscle aches and pain down the right side of my arm and body, YES I continued to ride track work and YES I began having a tote of cannabis by pipe just before I would go to bed at night, it was the only pain and nerve reliever that worked so I could sleep all night. My rule with this drug was not to use before nightfall and it was only one or at most two totes... just to release the pain so I could sleep. The drugs the doctors offered me were very powerful and addictive and i refused to take the prescriptions. These days I hav no need to use this drug and haven't for many years now. I do share concern regarding riders turning up at the track totally stoned of their faces. I do believe in using this drug for certain pain relief and illnesses.
  8. Wow!!! Rode the reactive lad for the first time this morning in the above bridle with a rubber coated snaffle bit. I got off him and doubled check if it was the same horse. It's taken a few weeks to work him out with just the basics and discovered the lighter the bridle gear on him the better he went. What a kind comfortable bridle and gives the right control needed. I'm a happy little camper.
  9. You can race in leather bridles just not leather reins
  10. This one I have seen at Ascot racing. Its tha micklem bridle.
  11. It's a Colleglate Comfittec training snaffle bit bridle
  12. Does anyone know if you can race in this bridle?
  13. I dont think it's a matter of weather a jockey is better than the other in this case. The horse is not an easy ride and Meech has been able to settle him in his last two races. Good luck to the owner on his selection of rider that hasn't ridden this difficult horse.
  14. Awesome ride today Its nearly 4 weeks of re-education so far. might be finally turning a corner... and it was full on windy, blowing all that a horse would shy at
  15. Chris use to ride this boys uncle Grand Rapids
  16. I sent him to Massey a couple of days after the race for a full examination and bloods etc. All clear 100 percent okay. He reacts to his envoriment... for eg, I was riding him just walking him around and a bird sung out a bird warning call and he reacted to that... I was working him just on sunrise and as the sun came up the sunlight set him off .... this is why the full cup blinkers went on and now he's not so reactive. I'm not young and I don't know if I'm going to be fit enough to give this lad the type of work he needs. Thanks for you comments thou.
  17. Teeth done Was being worked in a bit you cannot race in... however I did see that all his hair on the near side of his mouth had been rubbed off and there was a thin wire tongue depresser behind the bit, which I thought was a wee bit big for the horse's mouth too. He a very kind natured horse.. he's just so reactive to ride. This is why I have put full cup blinkers on him and this has helped him to focus more on the rider so far. I would like to see him race right handed too as he feel amazing that way around too Thanks Berri
  18. Or if you are a trainer who wishes to contact privately. Call me on 021 08828964 This is the race link attached. Number 6 is the horse we are talking about. He has had two 3rds and a second at the jumpouts ova 1000m and is bred to go 1600m and upwards https://loveracing.nz/Common/SystemTemplates/Modal/Video.aspx?v=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f201908%2fM4+WAVY+R04+290819+TB(A).mp4&i=%2fCommon%2fImage.ashx%3fw%3d720%26h%3d400%26a%3d1%26o%3d1%26bg%3deeeeee%26p%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f201908%2fM4+WAVY+R04+290819+TB(A).jpg&r=Race+4+-+SUMMIT+HAULAGE+1400&rs=1&jwsour
  19. Now you all know, well the ones that watch my lad debut run at Waverly was not the greatest ... infact it was unexpected to say the least. Since then I taken the horse home and have introduced his old bridle rings and also added a set of full cup blinkers and have been riding him around the paddock quietly. I'm seriously wanting recommedations of trainers who have riders with good stamia and know how to handle a horse that can pull sometimes. There arent many riders of the caliber available down this way that I know of. Your input will be appreciated.
  20. Well that was unexpected! Positives he has a lot of speed. Unfortunately due to the steering wheel malfunction he was pulled up around the bend. Synnefo is all okay... came in and didnt even blow a match out.
  21. Thanks Shad, Over protective mother since he came into work as a two year old Lost count of the number of perps he has done now, each time has showen abit more.. fingers crossed he will show me some more tomorrow.
  22. Synnefo, first race day start on thurs Waverly 1400m race 4. Finally he is ready
  23. What are the winning % trainers and jockeys get. Is it still 5%?
