  2. No Joker play this week for 'Ad Augusta'. I rate our opponents the 'Mainly Dollarz' the hardest team to beat. Two players in the Magnificent Seven' ...and that's before we even get to TC. We'll keep our "ammo" dry for another day. We haven't climbed from 8th to 6th to 4th to 3rd and now 2nd ...to blow it all in one game.

  4. Wasn't wrong was I? Had its first reading back in August - but not sighted since. Other priorities. And even when / if it passes it will be until 2019/2020 season before money "rolls" in. And the CEO now telling the industry they are losing $1m a month with delays. That'll be eating into the ability to bankroll the $9m stakes gift after this year. Desperate times calls for desperate management - but after three years in pulling the pin next year would be about right, plus the Chair goes.

    Congratulations Team Cole

What a wonderful win from a great dog. Congratulations to the Coles, Craig and all concerned. Home bred as well' The run for third from Levi was almost as good, huge effort all round Now add the Lois Henley , the Graham Hayden-Holmes, and the Palmerston North Gold cup plus chuck in a few more grade races and can anyone think of a more successful day for a trainer in NZ ? What a successful brood Romberg Lass has been. And to think she never won a race past sprint distance. Throw's some theories out the window. Went to some great studs though.

  7. I wasn't casting aspersions - I agree he is. Rather I was saying I cannot recall ever seeing an established trainer line up so many horses on one day which are new to the stable.... especially when they are coming in from England, HK and the North Island

    It’s a plan

Dog is correctly graded at c4 I believe. He won his c1s, then a c2 which made him c3. He then won a c3/4 which made him a c4. He then won a R/A race which doesnt affect his grade. The c5 races he has conpeted in were cup races so ge was nommed up a grade for these. Hope this helps Andy

  14. The NZRB has their latest half year report out. Looking past the spin they: 1. made less money than a year ago (net profit down). 2. have further eroded the net equity on the balance sheet. $15m deposit cashed in and net equity has dropped ~$7m. But , but, but.... the "strategic initiatives" are all doing great and delivering (well those that have been delivered). Cue the Tui ad........

  15. It's a " bot" Uriah. Im even more about convinced now than before. The programmers had/have a very limited concept of end times and how it will play out. Anyway , back to the Vietnam War. Take it away Grizzly

Peter 5:5 points to it being highly unlikely the God will be using a man like President Trump for his purposes. "Clothe yourself in humility toward one another. For God sets himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful); but gives grace (favour) to the humble."

    Hey Hey Hey!

Look at the last two runs of Harriet of Mot and the way she was beaten in the Dominion Handicap and you will look no further. Go Hattie.

  19. Boris sayed remember when the Doncaster was a real handicap and hoses had 7st 7 like rajah sahib and citius as a 3yo filly and the great Persian puzzle came from wiradjuri country to win the Donny with half of duntry league screaming there mammaries off and the 73 race tontonan v toltrice v the kiwi bar made from marou bra , those were the days things are not the same, n0? compressed waits Be a great day anyway boris

    Easter Monday Rotorua

In those days hurdle racing started late March/ early April. In fact I recall a 'New Years Hurdle race at Ellerslie' half a century or more ago, then you had three consecutive weeks of jumps racing at Te Rapa, Maramarua Hunt meeting at Paeroa midweek, plus point to point racing and jumpers were plenty primed for three days at Ellerslie Northern meeting in a week over Queens Birthday. Like Chris Wood, sadly lost IMHO.

  21. Messing with tradition hasnt really worked here in NZ. Possibly the Derby is the only race that this has helped, a bit more time for these horses to mature to cope with the 2400m.

  22. I am pretty sure the Easter meeting always used to fall at Easter, but since the introduction of Auckland "Cup Week" it has tended to get pushed right back. With Riccarton no longer racing at Easter either the Great Easter is about a month after Easter this year I think.

    TAB

C'mon Ted youre a student of form aren't you? When taking a bet its buyer beware i.e. you should be doing your form or in this instance your research on why the odds were enhanced or why it wasn't a good bet or was a good bet, punters who were onto it could have backed any other jock in the challenge , refunding the bets in this instance sets a terrible precedence imo . I think there may have been a number of punters caught out on this one by the bookies and their pride has taken some denting along with their wallets. The TAB cop a severe bashing in a lot of cases but I can't see how they wrong are in this particular instance.

How is it any different to me taking a fixed odds bet and having the fav late scr in the race and near halving my odds. I dont get the chance to cancel my bet and neither should this jockey option be refunded or changed.

Would like to thank the team at Manukau for a great afternoons entertainment. The racing was good and generally clean. Lost quite a few dollars but did win a meat raffle so daughter was happy with that when we got home. I would thoroughly reccomend the experience to anyone, good facilities and close to the action

  27. No didn't go Ohokaman. One of my committee did though and I have heard nothing so it cannot have been overly impressive.. I am so disillusioned with the way it is going and the impossibility of getting any traction with these guys that I simply could not be bothered wasting 3 or 4 hours and $60 worth of gas getting there. What i do know though is they needed numbers 'for catering reasons'. Presumably a 'free' scoff and drinks at the industry's expense. Now we occasionally have a meeting of all clubs here and we certainly don't all gobble industry funded tucker at such times. The gravy train rumbles on.
