    Hats Off

Give this man a horse........ Sensible Princess, won a very important race in her career. Maybe the best she may win. But hats off to her trainer who recognised the input that puts the photo in the frame. Lisa Alpress had a real impact to the performance being realised and the respected and accomplished trainer acknowleded it. Hats off. CJ obviously had the motor at the 100m and provided the polish, but tip the hat to the breeder, John Bromley, and his trainer, a really good race to win. The dam was a reasonable performer, and she has produced a really good horse.......good luck John......hope the luck continues.....

  2. Looks like whirlwind finish the final 2 races by Steve P. Well done, Steve ! You're not comin' after the Shield, are you ? In that sort of form, I hope not. Remember, I've got the Shield bolted to the wall.

I believe the Lazarus performance was "measured" given the number of heats and a predictably torrid final to come. Then all the other big races coming up , I have faith in Mark Purdon's training regime.

George in the north ( enjoy the off the cuff one liners) and yep Mark Mac in the south...Brilliant entertaining calls over recent Carnival. Why Grumble about Trackside...I don,t ! ...Talented Cameramen/woman and I.T staff beaming us the pictures... along with Brendon and Co. getting pre / post race interviews. They are no better than you or I at picking winners. give em a break I enjoy that kiwi pick of the yard lady and interview on horseback post race in OZ...something that could be arranged to improve viewing here.. Her name escapes me, but very astute on the lookers in the yard and often throws up value winners.

    joke thread

On a great day in the Garden of Heaven, Adam calls out to God and says, “Lord, I have a problem.” “What happened, Adam?”, God replies. “Lord, I know you created me and have provided for me and surrounded me with this beautiful garden, with all this delicious food and all of these amazing animals, but I’m just not happy.” “Why is that, Adam?”God replies. Adam says,“My Lord, I am lonely.” “Well Adam, in that case I have the perfect solution. I shall create a ‘woman’ for you.” Adam asks,“What’s a ‘woman’,My Lord?” “This ‘woman’ will be the most intelligent, sophisticated, sensitive, caring, and beautiful creature I have ever created. She will be so intelligent and sophisticated that she can figure out what you want before you want it. She will be so sensitive and caring that she will know your every mood and how to make you happy. Her beauty will rival that of the heavens and earth. She will unconditionally care for your every need and desire. She will be the perfect partner for you.” God replies. Adam smiles and says, "Sounds cool.” “She will be, but this is going to cost you, Adam.” “How much will this ‘woman’ cost me Lord?”, Adam replies. “She’ll cost you your right arm, your right leg, an eye, an ear, and your left testicle.” Adam ponders this for some time, with a look of deep thought and concern on his face. Finally Adam says to God, “Uhmm,My Lord, what can I get for my rib?” You know the rest of the story.

Post where i said i did not punt much on harness. Got plenty on Laz in the cup but then again i know how to get it on unlike you My opinion but saying you had to continually hit a horse to get a result is mediocre at best given today's whip rules which we all know you disagree with Also mediocre to suggest the RIU only punish junior or part time drivers, suggests favoritism/corruption

    Can Lazarus do it?

Listening to Dexter Dunn talk after the Cup, he said the horses' momentum was knocked when TigerTara broke down the back. He drew badly in the Free-For -All, and ran on solidly without ever threatening. His results did not reflect on how he actually went.

Every comment thus far is accurate my friend, where do you get the hide to contradict reality? You just concentrate on those ezi bets ya peanut and let the adults talk. Potatoe face Sweeney is woeful on every level, reminds me of Mike Osullivan.Incompetent. George Simon lost his mojo several years back Tony Lee needs to cut back on the punt, his calls are bias to the tickets in his pocket. Hes still got it but. Steve Davis has the i.q of Tony Allan and the yabber of Shaun Ritchie Mark Mac is numero uno and Popps is generally slick and informed. End Of.

Race 9 1st - 9 Monrecour W-$8.10 2nd - 4 Howbowdat Q-$22.40 scr: 17-22 subs: #4 then #6 7 on the zippy Zacinto in the last with BBs for John and TC while Nick, Dave and Howie snagged the quinella and Sir G and Steve P bagged a BB quinella. For Steve it was enough for him to snatch 2nd from Catalano while Sir G and John also snuck into the points. A last gasp effort from Howie enabled him to retain the Shield with next week's challenge coming from Richie. 581.80 Richie 25 544.60 Steve P 18 462.20 Catalano 15 398.80 Rees 12 359.00 Maria 10 295.00 Punter Pete 8 261.00 Sharne 6 251.60 Rex (Sir G) 4 244.00 Graeme 2 238.00 John 1 229.60 Porky 221.00 Rosina 214.80 Cubes 196.00 The Crucible 194.80 Nick 194.00 Al 194.00 Casper 183.00 Korio 179.20 Ian 171.40 Rex (Mrzim) 161.00 Gruff 159.80 Dave 144.00 Skelly 144.00 PJ 126.00 Roland 125.80 Howie 119.20 Jack 114.00 Jill 114.00 Steve 104.00 Gordy 103.00 Brian 80.00 Pete 76.00 Maureen 69.00 Betty 35.00 Jen 35.00 Robert 0.00 Tony 0.00 Hesi 0.00 Rob 0.00 Ray Thanks for playing everyone and see you again on Wednesday at Rotorua

FlagU, however that was not your statement was it, and I quote: 'he won't have it given to him on a plate by the drivers like he is in nz.' if you make a shit statement like that, and get an adverse reaction thats your prob! and I don't need to see anything mate, regardless of how you think 'it was handed to him' Lazzie won his 2nd NZ Cup! yusssss! if that makes me one-eyed (proudly so) then so be it, I can live with that......furthermore, do you really think a man of Mark Ps stature would show up there with THE CHAMP if he considered he was 'gunna get it handed to him' I would imagine he knows full well the 'hurdles' (said with tongue firmly in cheek) he was goin to have to overcome to even compete?! oh puhleeese...... 32. You summarise the week rather nicely Cubes. Foaming & I were obviously giving the impression when we saw you that we were incapable of performing any mathematics. I suspect this is due to the following calculation If a man drank 2 beers an hour, for each hour on course over 5 race meetings in 8 days, while spending a small fortune on tote investments, after studying the fields for hours each morning, and then drank bottles of red wine each evening over dinner, followed by a nightcap - would said man appear capable of performing a more complex math equation than the number of combinations in a first 4 bet with 3 to win, 8 for second and third and the field for 4th (while standing at the tote window balancing a glass and turf digest)?

    Bloody Hell...

With the odd exception, they do not come across as particularly knowledgeable or as entertaining as their Aussie counterparts. The increase in females is no doubt a Pickles initiative, if you can call people "reading out the bloody obvious" an initiative. Pickles was hired to be Media Personnel Manager from reporting on Sports at TV3, so a tenuous link at best. Kydd has a background in Insurance, working for Waterhouse ( wagering ops ) and a year at Racing Victoria. Hardly a stellar CV you would think. I'd love to know what the job descriptions are for some of these roles as some of the match ups certainly appear questionable.

  37. Ha Ha Mick Guerin told everybody to put their all their money on Tiger Thompson to win and invest the winnings on the pick six.........Bookmakers must love him when he tips the hot favs that lose...he must have less than a 50/50 on those 1.20 shots...I reckon he could get Winx beaten

Just a total embarassment ....too many conflicts of interest...but its a small gene puddle, so no one involved is too far outside the 2 degrees of separation...and its sooo boring! I will say Steve Davis shows a bit of life...talks a lot but if you don't take him too seriously, (I don't think he takes himself too seriously either) he's passable....

Understandable. Titan Banner under-performed at the Cup carnival, not sure why Anderson decided to train the horse himself when the Purdon/Rasmussen had improved the horse so much.
