    Johnson v Johnson

7 years off and his first year back was slow his second year back and he was second to Lisa Cropp 2006/7 122 winners,2007/8 he rode 102 winners when chasing her he rode 20 winners in the month of June 2007 including a few over hurdles In 2008/9 he only had 63 winners. Why one might ask??..well the answer is simple,,a stipe who went by the name of Cameron George......as well as getting him some unjustified suspensions Mr George got into his head..Cameron George left and went to Harness Victoria and Reid Sanders became Chief Stipe.. I complained to Sanders that Johnson had not had any suspensions since he took over. His reply in a polite manner was that Mr George did not understand Chris Johnson's riding.....after all he was Australian..he expected Johnson to belt every runner He has won 4 Grand Natonal hurdles,a Great Norther hurdle on Clem and a Wellington Hurdle. One ride on Rough Habit and a group 1. one ride on Avedon and a group 1 One of his best rides ever ..Loader in the Railway Go team NZ in the Americas Cup

Spoken like a true arrogant American racist redneck. America doesn't need Islamic immigration to shag it, it has enough internal problems to sink it. The only one talking crap is yourself, American intervention in regional troubles has been disasterious since WW2 and Trumpie has taken it to a new level in shitting on his friends as well.

  6. I think greed, average management and un-unified owners will guarantee that IF this stallion makes it, he will be a great sire. In a lot of ways, the blood of Preferment is better than Savabeel and if you think about the success of Savabeel, to a slightly lessor extent Octagonal and Reset, and a renaissance of the likes of Zed, then Zabeel has proven he can do it as a sire of sires. We must remember that Preferment is the last one.....just so happens on balance (type, pedigree and race record), he is one of the best chances for Zabeel. Let's hope so.

    Trump written off

Utter crap, where America go's, the rest will follow. Western Democracies are in decline, and have been for sometime, they need a strong America like never before. Trump will provide that, along with strong decisive leadership. Europe is in the process of being invaded by a cult called Islam, the only ones repelling it are the former Eastern block countries of Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, etc. France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, England, Sweden, and Norway are all stuffed. Trump will slow the decline. Just imagine if crooked Hillary had won, or even worse, if the closet loving Moslem Obama had another term, then we would all be in deep shit.

  11. Just having a read on here for the first time and it seems the same old story that those who debate with trump supporters end up name calling as if it illustrates their argument is somehow superior to those of different views. What troubles me in these times of such polarized views is the way the nz media appear to have such a one sided view of what is happening in the USA. Its as if they think by repeating the same negative message over and over again they believe they can influence peoples views. Actually I think they are right in thinking that which personally I find disturbing. Many examples of that. For instance if you listen to radio live and other news outlets you often hear Paul Buchanan being referred to for supposed expert comment on usa matters, where he never fails to paint Trump and his supporters in a very negative way. This is the same man who at one point worked for the bill Clinton administration, the same person who gave Trump no chance of ever being the republican nominee, the same person who publicly declared in a prominent nz magazine the bulk of Trump supporters as " white middle class who want someone to blame for being left behind by the technology revolution, further labelling them as racists, bigots and xenophobic." This is the type of person many anti trump people look to for their unbiased view of the usa as presented by the nz media. Yeah right. One further thing I have noticed is the avalanche of biased stories on google which pop up whenever I turn on my computer. For example earlier this week when the gunman shot and wounded 5 people at a republican baseball practice including a very high ranking republican I could not find a story on google about it. If it did exist at all it was very well hidden , one assumes because it was a self proclaimed democrat attacking republicans. You could however read a nice article about the house meryl streep lives in. Looking at what is happening in the usa, or more correctly not happening and it would appear the far right of the republicans are happy to see trump undermined, no doubt for their own purposes. Personally I think this biased is creeping into nz media coverage of local politics with our news media pushing their own agenda.

  15. Would you really give any funding to these clowns Hesi, based on past experiences ?? There has never been a quality Marketing Department ( and that applies to almost every Club too ) that understands the betting market and how to reach it...precisely and cost effectively. Given my experiences with Racing Clubs in NZ, most see any Marketing and or promotion as a waste of money as they have no idea how to quantify results of any expenditure. The same seems to apply here.

    New stallion for Brighthills

So this is what he is.... As a two year old ran second over 1300m in the city from two starts. His first race was over 900m First up as a three year old runs second over 1400m, then wins the Derby (VRC) after running second in the Geelong Classic (a Derby trial). Sydney in the Autumn didn't really work for him but he did manage to run second to Volkstock n Barrell in the Rosehill Guineas (Gp1) and beating Hallowed Crown...over 2000m...not bad form. He then won the Hill Stakes (2000m) and the WFA Turnbull Stakes (Gp1) over 2000m After failing in the Melbourne Cup (his race record shows he's not a stayer), he raced in the Hong Kong Cup, before running 4th to Winx in the Chipping Norton (1600) before winning both the Australian Cup (Gp1) over 2000m (beating Rising Romance who was at the top of her game), before winning the BMW (Gp1). Now if you'd have stopped right there, you'd have said that is a stallion profile of a horse that was most effective over 2000m, was mature enough as a three year old to win over the Derby distance in the spring (I actually like that more than winning over that distance in the autumn as it shows strength at an earlier stage), and good enough to mature properly to win at the classic distance as a 4 year old. But they raced him on...and by that time he'd obviously had enough. For all of Chris Waller's genius talents as a trainer, this stallion was poorly managed in the latter part of his career...from a stallion's perspective. Dam is by Flying Spur (leading stallion), has produced 2 group winners. Flying Spur is of course by Danehill (undisputed champion stallion), and Flying Spur is a Golden Slipper winner who has also produced champions including 5 Gp1 winning two year olds and 3 Guineas winners. To boot, a leading broodmare sire. Second dam is by Canny Lad...wasn't Redoute's Choice out of a Canny Lad mare as well? So Preferment's dam is bred on the same cross as Redoute's Choice. Canny lad was also a Golden Slipper winner and a very good sire. Just for good measure, the second dam produced a Villiers Stakes winner, which of course is a fast horse's race. Then the 3rd dam is by Beau Sovereign by the champion Sovereign Edition. Beau Sovereign was a gorgeous horse, and a champion sire. The 3rd dam also produced 3 stakes winners including a Sallinger winner (Gp1 sprint) So put all of that together, and just for good measure you can boast he's by Zabeel, and that at $190,000 as a yearling was a smashing looker, what have you got. An absolute bargain at $12,500 for a star stallion's profile who was very badly managed as a stallion race horse. https://www.nzb.co.nz/sales/pedigree.cfm?sale_id=166&lot=36 Good on you Nick!!! Job well done

    Incompetence Again

I have a look at the RIU reports on a regular basis and was surprised to see a jockey charged with CARELESS DRIVING. I believe C Barnes should have had a the charge dismissed,as the charge should have been Careless Riding, you have to question the competence of of the 2 Stewards on duty, surely they must proof read what they have written,if the typist made a mistake or the Stewards did,you would think they would have checked the reports they write before publishing them, not to have it pointed out days after the report was published. The Stewards continue to make us look like a 2nd class organisation. 22. Make no bones about it, Monsun was a freak stallion. He suited German and European racing in that generally their tracks are not hard and firm and they allow their horses to mature. Most of their creme de la crème racing is for older horses. As a sire of sires his progeny follow this trend. The likes of Shirroco, Manduro and Getaway were outstanding stayers but their progeny need a lot of time. There are the Maxios and Vadamos types who had a bit more speed and that's hopefully what will happen down under when crossed with our type of mares.

  26. Agree about breeding with quality bitches ( I am slightly biased as they have one of mine ) but as for CD being in trouble , the north is worse , especially Manukau. It is totally lacking quality as we saw yesterday with the C5 sprint . They have been getting away with running 18.60's to win C5's which I'm sorry IMO is not good enough . No C5 middle distance race either . All above IMO .

Im in agreement with you.. when Donald Trump became President, i thought about the Media here in NZ... and i see Winston Peters calling out the Media for being Dishonest at times. Sometimes with the Nz Media.. its not what they report is overly important.. but what they fail to report, and in extreme cases Media choose not to cover a major issue.. which has a major impact on NZ's society.. TPPA is a classic case and point

It just gets very tiring reading your 100% support for the guy, its boarding on fanatical lunacy. I am as worried about the rampant tiny minority of extreme Islamists as you are, as much as I am concerned about rampant human breeding that the Catholic church fails to accept as one of the leading causes of global climate change/pollution etc. Unfortunately I have not as much confidence in an American egotist turning things around. However unlike a good number of NZers I also understand that the US and ourselves share many common beliefs and that our interests are far better aligned with Australia/US than Chinese or Russian. Both of whom have done little in terms of worldwide humanitarian aid compared to the US.

That's the trouble. The emptiest vessels make the most noise and continue to bring about their own downfall because NZTR respond to the wails instead of good practice and common sense. I would argue that if the investment had been made 15 years ago, possibly even 5 years ago (along with a few other things also not happening because of the wailing), stakes would be much higher today, even allowing for the contribution being made now by mortgaging our future based on very dubious projections. Ask yourself, if NZTR by some miracle were suddenly distributed another 1% of turnover, where would they spend it? I can guarantee it wouldn't be infrastructure or marketing.

A bit of a curve ball here, but why is it that every successful sport in the world is run by people who were successful at the sport in question, not exclusively but largely, think about rugby and yachting for example. Why is it that NZ racing is mostly run by people who've no real credentials and who've generally done nothing of significance in the sport/business of racing ? The most extreme example would be the Fockerd/Guppy duo, they don't seem satisfied with the mess they've created at their local track Trentham, so now they're trying to fuck the national industry by orchestrating their warped chicanery at the Member's Council. All a bit odd really and probably one of the major reasons racing is absolutely fucked in NZ.

Savabeel was a winner and G1 placed at 2, was WFA placed at G1 level at 1400m at 3, and a Cox Plate winner at 3. On record Preferment has no Group form under 2000m,( 8 attempts at Group level under a mile for no placings), this is where I believe the two differ considerably. There's no doubt he raced on to long which has affected his record. But pedigree wise has plenty going on through the damline and has a very good page. Ticks a lot of boxes pedigree wise for sure. Will he be well supported? Im not sure?, A lot of well credentialed 1st season/2nd season sires around. Tivaci/Turn Me Loose/Rageese/Mongolian Khan/Tarzino/Complacent/Contributer/Sweynesse/Puccini (similarly overraced when out of form)/Vanbrugh/Vespa Is there enough mares around to give all these stallions a chance, where is Preferments support going to come from?

How can Clubs manage when all the money is collected and spent by NZRB? Sure, Clubs like Ellerslie have great revenue streams but don't forget, they were in deep shit debt at one point and are fortunate to have a heavily populated area as a source to draw patronage to their function centre - without resorting to having the "Merchants of Debt" (pokies) to rely on. Otaki, Cromwell, etc have no such luxury.
