Rules & Policies
Forum & Chat Rules
By entering our discussions, you agree to abide by these rules
and our interpretation of them. The details are outlined below (and you should
read them all), but the golden rule is:
Be Polite!
In essence, that's all there is to it. We respect each other.
We don't insult people, we don't antagonise people, we don't swear or otherwise
offend people. If you think this sounds too restrictive, you probably won't like
it here and you should consider leaving now!
- Any messages which (in our opinion) aren't suitable will be
edited or deleted.
- Any visitors who continually disregard these rules may be partially
or completely banned.
Names, Nom de Plumes & E-Mail
In general, messages can be posted freely by anyone, using any
name or alias. Obviously this excludes deliberate fraud such as impersonating
someone else. If you would like to reserve a name for yourself, you'll need to
become a registered user. Providing
an e-mail address is optional.
Discussion Topics
Discussions can cover any range of topics which may be of interest
to our visitors. The focus is clearly on racing, but it doesn't hurt to digress
and make small talk from time to time. Please don't get too carried away though
- if you want to enter into a lengthy chat, the Live
Chat Room is always available.
At any time we may declare a particular topic closed. Any further
messages on this topic will be deleted. The topic may be re-opened at a later
date.
Questions and Complaints
If you see anything which you feel is inappropriate in our forums,
please fill out the complaint
form immediately. In the case of serious complaints (such as fraud, slander,
etc), we are prepared to track down and identify users of our forums.
If you would like to know why your message has been edited or
deleted, read the Edited Messages Page. If you honestly still don't understand it, feel free
to contact us, but you must understand
that we are not going to change the way we work. Except in very unusual circumstances
we do not discuss editing decisions publicly.
Censorship
This is a touchy subject but there's no doubt
that a certain amount of discretion is required to make these forums enjoyable
and productive for the maximum audience. Of course, there are also legal issues
involved.
We will edit or delete any message which, in
our opinion, falls into any of the following categories. See the links on the right for details abpout how we interpret these categories.
- Commercial or Bulk Messages
- Offensive, Insulting or Slanderous Messages
- Fraudulent Messages
- Accusations of Illegal or Improper Conduct
- Disclosing Personal Details Without Consent
- Annoying Messages and "Trolling"
Banning Users
In some cases we may elect to impose restrictions
on a user, which could include either of these scenarios:
- The user may read messages, but may only post messages subject
to moderator approval.
- The user may read messages, but may not post messages at all.
